Christophoros holds an LL.B (Hons) and an LL.M in Labour Law and Industrial Relations from the University of Leicester, UK, and was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 1996.

Career history

1996–1998

Began his legal career at Phoebus, Christos Clerides & N. Pirelides & Co, first as a pupil advocate, then as an associate.

1998–2001

Appointed by Andreas Neocleous & Co to establish and manage their Nicosia office.

2001–Present

Founded Christophi & Associates, renamed Christophi & Associates LLC in 2009.

European Court of Human Rights · 2015

A landmark victory on sex discrimination and equal treatment, correcting a legal inequality that had stood in Cyprus law for four decades.

Lapertas v. Police

Academic & public engagement

Christophoros has served as a visiting lecturer in Company Law and Business Law at several private universities and professional institutes, and frequently presents to legal, financial, and business audiences on:

He has spoken at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), and international business forums in Germany, Austria, and Slovakia.

Podcasting & thought leadership

Christophoros founded and hosts the LegalMatters Podcast — the first law-related podcast in Cyprus, airing weekly and covering legal reform, human rights, access to justice, and the rule of law in Cyprus and Europe.

Its Facebook page has more than 16,000 followers — a substantial reach relative to Cyprus's population. Guests have included the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the President of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General, and renowned economists such as Jeffrey Sachs, among other prominent figures in law, politics, and public life.
